Neva Masquerade Siberian Cat
We are a small Neva Masquerade Siberian Cat breeder located in London.
Our cats come from the best Polish breeding catteries and have five-generation certificates dating back to their Russian ancestors. We are registered with GCCF, sit on the committee of the Siberian Cat Club in the UK and we are very proud to get a full membership in the London Cat Club. We often take part in cat exhibitions, where our cats have achieved numerous successes. Our cats are fully socialized and live with us at home. Our cats are fully vaccinated: FHV-1, FCV, FPV, FeLV, Rabies Vaccine and HCM/RCM screened and also dewormed and flea treated.
History of the Siberian cats
Cat breed, Neve Masquerade is a breed originating from Russia, from the areas located on the Neva River.
Masquerade is a reference to the often – organised masked balls at the tsarist courts, and refers directly to the characteristic patterns on the cats’ face which resemble masks.
Neva Masquerade is a sister breed of the Siberian cat, recognized by FIFE as a separate breed in 2011 and known in Russia for centuries. The cats live in the harsh conditions of frosty Siberia, which makes them physically strong and resistant to all diseases.
These cats have thick fur consisting of three layers. The amazing fact is that you really need to brush them only once or twice a week and fur sustains beautiful and shiny.
Hypoallergenic cat
There is an opinion that cats of this breed are hyperallergic cats due to 80% less FELD1 protein, which is responsible for a large part of cat allergies.
